HIKAIRO

Inspired by the birth of our beautiful boy Hikairo Adriel, I used the paddle or hoe as a symbol of his birth and how a pēpi brings the family together. As a Māmā myself I wanted to capture these special whānau moments to remind me in my weakest times, I'm not alone. I see my husband, sisters, cousins friends and I feel blessed my children will be reflections of these role models X We shot this at lake Tikitapu (a link to his Tuhourangi side) I also layered in his sister Harete’s poi taniko print and then added in the Pītau print, a connection to his links to Rongowhakaata.

Ki te kotahi te kākaho ka whati, ki te kāpuia e kore e whati. Alone we can be broken. Standing together, we are invincible X Kīngi Tawhiao ~
